Yaay’s Pineapple Ginger Drink
Servings about 3 liters
Ingredients:
1/2 Kg of Ginger
8 packs of vanilla sugar
1/2 container of Orange flower water
Pineapple juice or orange fanta can (as much as you want to dilute the ginger)
Directions:
Shred the ginger with a grader. Try to shred the ginger as thin as possible. Put the ginger in a pot and add about three liters of water.
Put the pot onto the stove on medium to high heat (closer to the medium side) and bring it to a boil.
Then turn the heat on low and let it simmer for an hour before taking it off the stove.
Once the pot is at room temperature, add the vanilla sugar and orange flower water. Stir well and give it a taste. If the ginger is too strong, add some pineapple juice or orange Fanta until the drink meets your desire.
Chill in the fridge until it is cooled, or pour some ice cubes in and drink away.
Shea's favorite Method:
I loved when my family put pineapple juice in the ginger drink. I also liked when only 1/4 of the bottle of orange flower water was used. This may be because I am not a big fan of the flower taste. I love when I can taste the hit of pineapple juice, but it has the kick of ginger. I also like mixing this with some bissap juice: half bissap, half ginger.
