Overnight Oats

Standard Overnight Oats Base:

  • 1/2 Cup of Oatmeal (s)

  • 1 Scoop Protein Powder (s)

  • 1 Tsp Chia Seeds (s)

  • 3/4 Cup of Almond Milk (s)

  • 1 Tbs Maple Syrup (optional)

*Feel free to substitute the Almond Milk for Milk, Oat Milk, Cashew Milk, etc.

Chocolate Overnight Oats Base:

  • 1/2 Cup of Oatmeal (s)

  • 1 Scoop Protein Powder (s)

  • 1 Tsp Chia Seeds (s)

  • 1 Tbs Coca Powder

  • 3/4 Cup of Almond Milk (s)

  • 1 1/2 Tsp Coca Nibs (optional) (s)

  • 1 Tbs Maple Syrup (optional)

Directions for Both Overnight Oats Bases:

  1. Combined all of the dry ingredients into your container

  2. Then add the rest of the ingredients in to the bowl until well combined. *Added in more or less Almond Milk to the consistence you like.

  3. Let set in the fridge for at least 5 hours and no more than 48 hours.

Notes: This is a good starting chocolate oatmeal base. Depending on what you like you can change up the proportion. The ingredients that have an (s) after will indicate what ingredients I add into my standard recipe. When I am making my base I do not added in the Coca Powder if I am using a chocolate protein powder. This is because it is a little to chocolates for me, but mum loves the added Coca powder. Instead of the Coca Powder I add Coca Nibs for a bit of a crunch. I also do not add any sweetener in mine because my protein powder sweetness the oats up to my liking.

*All my life, I never liked protein powder, but I think I finally found the one for me (and potentially you as well). I was looking for a protein powder that was plant base (not whey), high in protein, and did not make me want to gag on the horrible taste. If you're looking for protein powder, I recommend Xeela. It's a bit expensive, but it's well worth it. At least try the sample packs.

Different recipes that use the two standard recipes above:

Raspberry Chocolate Overnight Oats:

  • Chocolate Overnight Oats Base

  • 1 Tbs Raspberry Jam

Directions:

  1. Make Chocolate Overnight Oats Base

  2. Swirl Raspberry Jam as desired

Note: I like putting Raspberry just on the top and bottom of my jar. That way it ensures that I get jam in every bit.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Overnight Oats:

  • Chocolate Overnight Oats Base

  • 1-2 Tbs Peanut Butter

Directions:

  1. Make Chocolate Overnight Oats Base

  2. Swirl Raspberry Jam as desired

Note: I use stir to use Peanut Butter because it is more of a raw peanut flavor for me. I also sometimes use banana split protein powder to make it a peanut butter banana chocolate overnight oats.

Berry Berry Overnight Oats:

  • Standard Overnight Oats Base

  • 1/4 Cup of frozen berries of your choose

Directions:

  1. Make Standard Overnight Oats Base

  2. Defrost berries to where you can easy squish it with a fork

  3. Smash berries with a fork until you have some of the fruit juice.

  4. Mix the bites of berries and juice into the oats

Note: I used to mix the berries in after making the standard overnight oats recipe, but I found it was easier to mix in the berries when I combined the milk and the berries together when making the standard overnight oat base.
